Tree 5: Andrew Fitzhenry of Ireland and Rock, Worcestershire I don't know of any surviving descendants of this family, but if there are any out there (Fitzhenrys or otherwise) I would love to hear from you. This is a really interesting family for two main reasons. Firstly, Andrew was a Catholic doctor from Ireland who married the daughter of a prominent Anglican rector in Worcestershire. Intermarriage between the faiths wasn't easy at this time - the Anglican Book of Common Prayer still had prayers to be said for the defeat of the Papist plot. There was also a protracted legal dispute over Andrew's father-in-law's will, which took over twenty years to sort out. Without these documents, I would never have been able to trace this family. The story of the dispute can be found here in the blog. There was a lot of money riding on the outcome of this one. 1a. Thomas - dates unknown. From Ireland. Andrew's brother. 1b. Andrew b. before 1778 in Ireland, d. 1830 Dublin Ireland. A doctor. |
