Tree 5: Andrew Fitzhenry of Ireland and Rock, Worcestershire

I don't know of any surviving descendants of this family, but if there are any out there (Fitzhenrys or otherwise) I would love to hear from you.

This is a really interesting family for two main reasons. Firstly, Andrew was a Catholic doctor from Ireland who married the daughter of a prominent Anglican rector in Worcestershire. Intermarriage between the faiths wasn't easy at this time - the Anglican Book of Common Prayer still had prayers to be said for the defeat of the Papist plot.

There was also a protracted legal dispute over Andrew's father-in-law's will, which took over twenty years to sort out. Without these documents, I would never have been able to trace this family. The story of the dispute can be found here in the blog. There was a lot of money riding on the outcome of this one.

1a. Thomas  - dates unknown. From Ireland. Andrew's brother.

1b. Andrew b. before 1778 in Ireland, d. 1830 Dublin Ireland. A doctor.
Married Ann Watkins 1799. Eleven children.
    2a. Andrew Richard b. 1807 d. 1844. No known marriage or issue.
2b. Charles b. 1810 in Worcestershire. Mentioned in his father's will 1830. No other record.
2c. Thomas b. 1811 in Worcestershire. Mentioned in his father's will 1830. No other record.
2d. John b. 1814 in Ireland. Not mentioned in his father's will 1830, therefore presumed dead before this. No other record.
