We chose this company after taking advice from the Guild of One Name Studies about the various options available to us.

We have no financial interest in FamilyTreeDNA and do not get any personal reward for using it as our testing company. We chose it because it comes with an impressive pedigree in DNA testing and has a very large world wide database to compare an individual's results with.

These are the discounted prices that are only available to tests done through a surname project study, so if you are a Fitzhenry or Fitz-Henry why not get your DNA tested through our project?

The more markers in the test, the more accurately it will predict who you are related to.
We suggest the 37 marker test (Y-DNA 37) as a minimum for this study.  If you chose the tests with fewer markers, you can always upgrade at a later time for an additional fee.

There are also tests available to look at your ethnic background, known as the mtDNA tests. These will not give you any more information about which Fitz(-)henry group you are part of, but if you are interested in this ethnic aspect of your history, the tests are cheaper when done as part of a surname project.
